Frequently Asked Questions
Are Sealants Just For Back Teeth?
No. Sealants are commonly recommended for back teeth, since they're larger and have deep grooves and pits that can make them more cavity-prone. Most kids get sealants around the age of six when they get their first adult molars, then again at age 12-13 when they get their second set of adult molars.
However, sealants can be applied to other teeth, too. This may be necessary if your child has weak enamel or is very cavity-prone. For more information, we recommend scheduling a consultation with Dr. Prieve at Blue Skies Pediatric Dentistry.
